3 Continental Film Festival announces 2005 Winners
Joel Assaizky composed additional score for the award winning documentary Angola Saudades from the one who loves you.
The organising committee of the 3 Continental Film Festival, held in Johannesburg and Cape Town this past September 2005, are pleased to announce the winning films from this yearês festival.
In the cateogry of Best Documentary the jury have selected Angola Saudades from the one who loves you as winning film. Produced in Southern Africa and directed by Richard Papekkla, Angola Saudades offers a lyrical, kaleidoscopic journey through Angola, revealing the beauty and enduring spirit of this once war-torn country. The film received virtually universal acclaim from audiences, and the festival organisers wish to congratulate everyone involved in making the film for their significant contribution to African cinematic landscape.

Joel Assaizky has been composing music for television, commercials and film since 2002. In this short space of time he has become well known for his unique approach and innovate sound design.

His partnership with Farryl Roth and Erik Pilani as the Junior Musicians Yacht Club has yielded some of the most exciting soundrack work in South African film and television.
