3SAI A Rite Of Passage
This film explores rites of passage and transitions in male identity through a poignant visual and aural representation of the head shaving "rituals" of young recruits at Third South African Infantry Battalion in Kimberley 3SAI.
Directed by South African artist Paul Emmanuel, the first stage of production is complete and pre-production for stage two is underway.
I'll be providing a soundtrack using field recording as the source for a sound sculpture that captures the procees of transformation taking plavce in the film. I'm very excited to be working with Paul and the production team at Format
