JMYC Studio specialises in scoring music for film, television and commercials as well as composing original music for events. We bring our skills and synergy as a band to projects and the result is unique music that fulfills and exceeds the brief.
Some of the work we've done includes the music for Mzansi, a drama on SABC1 and DukuDuku Award winner, score for the acclaimed Hard Copy series, theme music for FeedSA, music for Stoned Cherrie/Fashion Against Addiction, theme music for Mindset Network (channel 82 DSTV) as well as several television and radio commercials.

Farryl Roth
Farryl has had extensive experience with a number of live bands. His musical interests range from blues and jazz right through to rock and pop. He's studied music formally and has also recorded and produced house/jazz albums for his own record label and Sheer Dance. Farryl is a versatile multi-instrumentalist and songwriter.
Erik Pilani
Erik is a truly exceptional bassist, guitarist, pianist, drummer and composer! He has an uncanny feel for african music styles, rock, jazz and funk which he fuses with the sound of the band. He has played with Musa Manzini, Benjamin Dube and Tzepo Tswala just to name a few. Erik has also recently produced Zama Jobes debut album "Ndawo Yami" for Sony-BMG.
Joel Assaizky
Joel studied music and sound engineering has been gigging with live bands in Johannesburg and producing his own brand of electronica. Known for his good ear and interesting approach to sound design, joel brings the electronic production and composition savvy into the mix. He's also composed score for several commercials and the recend award-winning documentary "Angola: Saudades from the one who loves you".
Joel Assaizky has been composing music for television, commercials and film since 2002. In this short space of time he has become well known for his unique approach and innovate sound design.
His partnership with Farryl Roth and Erik Pilani as the Junior Musicians Yacht Club has yielded some of the most exciting soundrack work in South African film and television.
